1829 C-1 R1 MS60 Prooflike. Glossy light olive brown blending to darker chocolate brown in protected areas. The fields are smooth and nicely reflective on both sides. The only marks are some very faint hairlines in the fields and a tiny diagonal nick just right of the upper lip. The die lines from the dentils over ICA are sharp, and these are present only on the earliest strikes from this reverse die. Comes with the original paperwork from Heritage Rare Coin Galleries identifying this piece as a Proof Strike (PRF 63). We are not convinced and believe this is a prooflike very early business strike, and it may have been recolored long ago. Inspection is recommended. Mocab 29.1.8. Estimated Value $500-UP.
