1 Cent    (sold for $5000.0)

1793 S-3 R3- Chain AMERICA G5. Glossy chocolate and darker steel brown with slightly lighter brown toning in the center of the reverse. The surfaces are smooth, free of any hint of corrosion or verdigris. The only defects are fine hairline scratches covering much of the obverse and a small rim nick over the N in UNITED. The date and legends are easily readable, although the bottom of the date is worn away. EDS, Breen state I, before any die clashmarks. Nice color and eye appeal for the grade as most at this level suffer from significant defects. Estimated Value $3,000-UP. Ex Jim Young 11/82. Categories: Flowing Hair Cents
