1 Cent    (sold for $320.0)

1796 S-113 R5 Draped Bust VG7. The obverse is weaker but the reverse is stronger, the grade being an average of the two sides. No roughness or verdigris. Just a few contact marks, including an obvious scratch or thin planchet void on the face and a trio of less-significant tiny rim bruises at the top of the reverse. Mostly glossy steel brown and light chocolate. The 6 in the date is slightly weak thanks to a minor die clog affecting its right side but the remainder of the date is strong and the legends are complete. Very rare E-MDS, Breen state II, before any die clashmarks. Estimated Value $400-UP. Ex Shawn Yancey-Rod Burress 3/8/2011. Categories: Draped Bust Cents
