1 Cent    (sold for $575.0)

1799 S-189 R2. Fair-2. A scruffy cent with moderate roughness and some dull contact marks, but the date is easily readable (although weak) and the color is a decent and rather glossy dark chocolate and olive brown. There are dull contact marks left of the hair ribbon and 6-8 more dull pit-like marks scattered over the reverse. No verdigris. Most of the legends are gone. Certainly not a beauty, but it's a 1799 with all 4 digits of the date readable. Estimated Value $300-UP. Categories:
