Ottoman Empire (1299-1923) was one of the largest by territory and was at the center of interactions between the Eastern and Western worlds for six centuries. The Ottomans conquered a lot of land / different countries. Huge part of Byzantine Empire including the capital of Byzantine - Constantinople was succeeded by Ottomans. Constantinople became the capital of Ottoman Empire in mid 15th century. If you live in the Eastern Europe, Middle East or North Africa there is a high chance that you live in former Ottoman Empire. So, it's nice to know more about Ottoman's coins. I've bought a couple for myself :)
