Some coins from Austro-Hungarian Empire under Franz Joseph I. Austria-Hungary was a multinational realm and one of the world's great powers at the time. In the autumn of 1918, the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy collapsed. Franz Joseph died on 21 November 1916, after ruling his domains for almost 68 years. He was the longest-reigning emperor of Austria.
