8 Real    (sold for $352.0)

1753,
MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1753/2-MoMF. Ferdinand VI (1746-59). NGC VF Details--Environmental Damage.

KM-104.1; Cal-type-85#330; Gil-M-8-26a; FC-26b. Struck from a rusted re-cut die, exhibiting a bold and clear overdate. Likely the die rust is what is being mistaken for environmental damage. A pleasing nicely toned example.

Pedigree: From the David Gray Collection. Ex: Ponterio & Associates Sale #125 Lot #518 April 25-26, 2003.
