A Superb and Very Rare Taler in Gold of Glatz
Ferdinand III (1627-1657) gold 10 Ducats 1629-HG, Glatz mint, Armored bust right with curly hair, large ruffed collar, with chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece below / Crowned four-part arms of Hungary and Bohemia with chain of the Order of the Golden fleece around, Fr-188 (Rare), KM#38 (Rare, listed under Bohemia), Herinek-4, 46mm, MS62 PCGS. A magnificent example of this taler-sized gold rarity. The surfaces are free of all but a few minor marks and exhibit noticeable reflectivity. The strike is superb and the full luster enhanced by a light dusting of greenish-gold patina. Exceedingly rare, and destined to be the premier piece in most any collection.
