Mint state sharpness but the obverse is nicely recolored glossy dark steel brown and olive while the reverse is a less attractive glossy mix of reddish chocolate, light brown, and chocolate brown. No spots or contact marks. E-MDS, die state a. The die lines from the dentils into the obverse fields are still clear as those fields have become slightly rough. The head of Ms Liberty, including her ear and the hair around it, is a bit blunted, as always on this variety, but there is no apparent wear. Tied for CC#3 of this rare variety. Removed from an NCS slab graded Uncirculated details improperly cleaned (NCS label included, and it shows the attribution and Reiver provenance). DWH #2996. Estimated Value $800-UP.
